The eighth graders were dealing with the topic of Clothing as part of their English practice. We found out how the textile industry works, what fast fashion is, where used clothes ends up, etc. We watched few educative videos on this topic. Students counted the amount of clothes in their wardrobes and found out that we also have pieces that we either don't wear or don't need. An idea was born when we wore clothes to school for a period of one week that was "forgotten at the bottom of the wardrobe". This produced interesting creations and outfits, and at the same time, awareness about the importance of careful handling of textiles and its thoughtful shopping was spread across the whole school. During the final lesson, the students thought about how they would encourage the wider public to help our planet and created several posters with concise slogans. The whole project forced us to think about the importance of protecting our planet, we learned a lot of new information and we look forward to further joint projects.
