Thanksgiving in the second grade

Last week, the second grade of our school held thematic lessons dedicated to the American holiday of Thanksgiving. The students had the opportunity to learn how this holiday is celebrated, where it comes from and what activities are typical for it.

During the lessons, we read texts about the traditions associated with Thanksgiving – for example, about family gatherings, preparing food together, parades and football matches. We also talked about when and where the holiday is celebrated and how it has gradually developed.

The program also included watching a thematic video, which allowed the students to better immerse themselves in the atmosphere of this important day. Afterwards, each of them was given the opportunity to think about what they were grateful for in their lives and share their thoughts with others.

And since Thanksgiving is an integral part of eating together, there was also a small feast full of good food, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

The lessons were conducted in a friendly spirit, brought a lot of new information, but also an opportunity to stop and realize what we can be grateful for.
